I recently moved into an apartment with a steel back door. When the dogs need to go out at 5 or 6am, I trudge outside with them and walk them along the parkway to do their thing. And sometimes, we see neighbors, or commuters walking to the train. And sometimes, I LOOK SCARY and I don’t figure this out until I catch myself in the bathroom mirror after we’ve returned. Yikes. So, while this didn’t mean I felt I needed to either a. only ever go out in full hair and makeup, or b. put a bag over my head, a small mirror on the back door would help me realize that I should maybe put my hair up, or rub off some of that mascara under my eyes, or realize I still had a crusty trail of moisturizer down the side of my face, or toothpaste globs on my shirt. Just the little things that can make a neighbor look at you funny or ask if you’re okay or try to slip you a dollar. It’s a kindness, having this mirror, and being able to adjust my appearance to be less scary at 5am.The mirror has stuck to the door in the same place as I first put it weeks ago. It hasn’t gotten hazy or warped, and it wasn’t damaged upon arrival. It behaves the way a mirror should. And so, I’m pleased with the purchase.
