Description The full story Korthart the Hateful Heart – Dark Dwarf Berserker There are few who might have led the slew of Dark Dwarves from the bonds of the Irinaxi Drow to Delvdor, save for the menacing Korthart. During their time in bondage, Korthart seemed to work against the interest of his brethren, acting as a sympathiser to his captors and an antagoniser to his kin. Yet often he would tell them it was an act, in hopes they would lower their guard with him and give him the opportunity to strike. Though this proved true in the end, many of his followers were slow to forget the whippings, brandings and torture he inflicted upon them, seemingly with delight in his eyes as he partook in it. Still, it was Korthart that thrust the first sword of rebellion into the skull of their camp’s slavemaster, inciting the revolt that would eventually see them freed and able to break the chains that bound them to the slags and rocks of the Underground. Upon the back of Shiasirix he led his people through the tunnels, though for weeks they were lost, Korthart would not let any try second guess his place as the group’s leader, lest they become a meal for his spider mount. It was fortunate for him that the group was spotted by a contingent of Glanbelite Drow Rangers, who organised safe passage for them to their Dwarven kin, who they hoped might take in the Dark Dwarves. Korthart was glad to take their aid, though his people were less sure of the decision. Many had lost faith in Korthart as their leader, and word began to swirl among his followers that he was no leader nor paragon like they though, but just a hateful being who had grown tired of serving under the Drow, and wished to find a position as a leader instead. Thus he earned the moniker of the Hateful Heart, a badge he quickly adorned when it reached his ears. Now he aims to prove indeed how hateful he can be, locked out at the gates of Delvdor with no means to progress and his people slowly dying to starvation and the blightful creatures emerging from the Rupture. Though he has done his best to negotiate through the problems raised by the Dwarves who would give them their salvation, it seems progress is being halted by bureaucracy. Every day he grows more impatient, and more ready to batter down the gates of Delvdor and bring his people forth to make it their home.
