Description The full story Jonah of the Badlands – Satyr Mercenary t takes an unforgivable act for one to be banished from their home in the Feywild. Such was the act of the Satyr who now calls himself Jonah upon the mortal plane, for his name and identity was stripped from him in the time he was banished, as well as all memories of life in the Fey and his crime. All that remains are whsipers and echoes of his time in the Dream, fragments scattered in his mind, pieces of a puzzle that he has desperately tried to put together for as long as he has walked upon Minera. Blood upon his hands, a hot blade slicing through his eyes, the screams of a loved one, and an overwhelming surge of guilt: the only memories that haunt his mind, rearing their head sporadically in the late hours of the night or long treks on the road. No matter the tonics, spells and methods he tries, none seem to tie the pieces together, nor fill in the blanks. Yet such services don’t come cheap, thus he has taken up mercenary work where he can, finding he has a penchant for spilling blood, at least better than those who dare stand against him. The majority of his work is sourced from local warlords in Sudd Tohst, where the hazards are high but the pay amply matches. Though being a sellsword pays handsomely, he lives an impoverished life, spending all his coins on wizards, alchemists and charlatans promising remedies for his imposed amnesia. None bring him any closer to remembering the past he was torn from, and the corpses left in his wake only grow with his anger and frustration. From voodoo witches and doctors across the badlands of Sudd Tohst to the most prestigious magic academies in Tharador, he found no answers for the questions he sought. One scholar suggesting that perhaps he best try his luck with the mind-contorting herbal remedies concocted by some of the Catfolk tribes of Zandoriel. Seeing he had nothing left to lose, he accepted a job as an escort on a merchant vessel sailing south across the open seas. The Azure Regent, a ship crewed by professionals that were mostly unaware of the hoard of contraband stashed below deck. Only Jonah, the Captain and a handful of other guards were aware of the true nature of the journey. Jonah suspected that trouble would be bound for them, however. Civilians had been brought onto the ship to further lower suspicion and dull alarm bells, but it wouldn’t stop a vessel of gold hungry and bloodthirsty pirates from boarding them, only provide a meatshield to Jonah if things grew dire, best case scenario. So uneasy he has sat atop the deck since they set sail from Sudd Tohst, praying to whatever gods that might hear his prayers in the endless ocean. Though if they sat unanswered in Tharador, what good might it do here? Exceptional Quality Our models are conceived on paper and then bought to life as concept art by our dedicated arts team.
